Tri County (VMBN)
Rotary Club
Good Evening Tri County Rotarians,
Lots of activities and exciting events are happening in the next few weeks and in the months to follow.
President-Elect Jerry Covella introduced a great speaker from the Holly City Development Corporation, Heather Santoro, Executive Director, at last night's meeting. Exciting things are happening in Millville.
Love the brochure.  Here's a snipet..."The public outreach process was designed to make outreach fun, interactive and accessible, which included engaging Community members at the Playstreets event on Pine Street, hiring local residents to perform a door to door survey, creating a video of young peoples' aspirations for their community, and involving youth from a local organization directly in the planning process".
Yes, Community involvement is the key to a successful plan! Way to go Millville!
In the last month, we have added 4 new members to our club:
  • Joe Perella, Associate Dentist from Millville.  Joe will be getting married on Friday.  Congratulation, Joe! See you soon with pictures.
  • Quandell Iglesida, Founder and CEO of the Non-Profit SNJ Millenials.
  • Trinity Jagdeo, Founder and CEO of the Non-Profit "From We Can't To We Can"
  • Suzette DeMarchi, Principal of Vineland High School
A shout-out to Member Nick Fiocchi who gets married this month too!
Our Thanks for Giving Basket Collection is well under way.  We still are in need of more groceries, and essentials.  Please check out the link below and see what is needed. Currently are STATS are:
  • Total Slots:760
  • Filled Slots:483
  • Available Slots:277
  • % Filled:63.55%
and still need to purchased quite a bit more to complete our 20 baskets for families in need in the Millville area.
Please help any way you can so we don't disappoint the families who are counting on us.  If you prefer to give a gift card for Jessica Albertson and I to shop with, that can be arranged.  Just let us know. Thank you for your generosity and "Thanks for Giving"
District 7505 Governor's Official Club Visit
District Governor Joanne Ventura will be visiting our club for her official Governor's Club Visit on Tuesday, November 19th during our meeting time.
It is very important that our club "represent and be counted", so we would like every member to be in attendance, excluding our two members, Joe Perella and Nick Fiocchi, who are getting married. YOU'RE BOTH EXCUSED! LOL!
According to the official Rotary International Guidelines, "Once a year, the District Governor makes an official visit to each club in the district, between July 1st and December 31st. The purpose of the visit: To allow the District Governor to communicate directly with all Rotarians in our District. To listen to the Club Leadership and gain better understanding of their club.
Since we are the newest and best club in the District, let's come out in full force.
Governor Joanne Ventura and her husband Steve Neuner, along with our Assistant Governor Vicky Beyerle and her husband, Gordon, will be in attendance. District  Governor Joanne is the only member of our District who directly represents Rotary International.  It is customary for the membership to stand when the Govenor's name is announced.
Rotary Holiday Party
Jessica Albertson, our Club Administrator and Party Planner, has organized a fabulous festive holiday party for us.
The date is Tuesday, December 3rd in the Rose Room.  We are having a Family Style Dinner, much like the dinner at your own home.  For this style, plates and platters of the selected foods are brought to each table, and you and your guests pass them around to one another - taking what you like in unlimited quantities.  You will get the variety of a buffet with the convenience of a sit-down dinner.
The cost for this is $40.00 per person.  We will be having a cash bar and for those who have special dietary restrictions, arrangements can be made, but must be made in advance.
Puerto Rico Promise
As we have been talking about for some time now, the Puerto Rico Trip is really happening.
We are looking for a mix of 24 Adults/ Interactors/ Rotaractors to serve the community of Caguas. The group flight will be arranged once we have our 24, and it looks like pricing is coming in at about $425+/-. The rest of the details and downloadable flier and application packet are below.  Please be aware of the deadlines.
